More Problems

We had more problems on the second day of filming this is, again, unfortunately, not all of them...

Alternate Vesrion

Just as an attempt to test how minor details can alter a film's interpretation we have created an alternate version of our project. The footage remains the same but the music and text font have been changed giving the film a more '80s vibe'.

Finished

We have made some changes to our film - most notably adding some context at the beginning of the film, letting the audience know the good guys are policemen, and altering the ending of the film to give the opening a more suspenseful feel. The film is not yet completely finished - some changes need to be made regarding the stability of certain shots.

KICK-ASS Case Study

How was KICK-ASS marketed?

  • Posters
  • Trailers
  • Social Networking
  • Other advertisements (eg Radio)
How was it received?
Well. The film developed a cult following and the film made an overall profit of 3 times its initial profit

What makes it a 'Brit Flick'?
The film is written by a British writer - using British humour - and made by a British production company.

In which ways could it be considered a 21st Century, postmodern film?
The film uses modern sites like MySpace which shows that the film is not trying to be 'the new Batman'.

Problems

There were some issues while filming. Here's half of them:

FILMING! 2: The Filming

We filmed again this Sunday (7th). We have completed the filming, gathering all the footage necessary for our film. The next step is editing which is in the process now.

FILMING!

Filming went well. We managed to accumulate half of the footage that was necessary for our film, however, due to changes made to the end of the film we may have to re-shoot some of our opening.

Filming in progress

We are somewhat behind our planned timeline. We had planned to be done with filming by February so that we could begin the editing process but it is now the 4th of February and we have yet to end filming since we missed a week of filming due to timing complications within the group. However, saying this, filming is planned for Sunday 7th.

The incident...

Turns out you can't use prop guns near a children's playground...
or the black helicopters come.

Final location

The location we have chosen to film in is the Wirral Way. We have chosen this location since, as a long, straight path, it supplies a lot of mobility for a chase scene. Furthermore, the Wirral Way offers a large amount of varied terrain which allows for interesting variety in shots.
